King Philip Warriors Basketball Team, 2010-2011 Season

The Situation

  • During the 2009-2010 season, the King Philip boys basketball team went 5-15
  • In their three previous seasons, the team experienced a 66-game losing streak
  • Using video was not an option, because it was not only difficult to break down film, but very time consuming
  • Feedback on their game film was previously impossible due to the school’s limitations with their AV department

How Krossover Helped

  • Coach McInnis started using Krossover for the 2010-2011 season
  • Each game’s film was broken down in about 24 hours after it ended
  • Games from the previous season were broken down and used as scouting film to prepare for upcoming opponents
  • Easy-to-create highlight reels allowed him to help each kid focus on how they were being played and where they could improve
  • Interactive shot charts showed kids where they were being successful with their shots
  • It allowed the team’s coaches to provided individual assessments of players immediately following each game
  • Made it possible to verify scouting reports against game tapes prior to playing opponents
  • Kids and coaches could put together their own highlight reels to share with friends and family
  • Sent students’ highlight reels to the top colleges looking to recruit

The Results

  • 18-9 record for the 2010-2011 season, a 13-win improvement
  • Points allowed per game dropped by over 10 points
  • Points scored per game increased by over 9 points
  • Played for their division’s championship
  • Helped star player get recruited
  • Lots of happy kids
